Microneedling for scalp hair loss Singapore

Alopecia is an extremely common cause of hair loss in both men and women; the most common type of alopecia is that of androgenetic alopecia which is an inherited disorder that affects up to 50% of all adult men and women [1]. The Dermapen is a novel and innovative medical device which enables aesthetic clinicians to perform microneedling of the scalp. Microneedling is an advancement in aesthetic medicine that has been established as a viable treatment modality for androgenetic alopecia [2]. In fact, researchers who conducted the first human trial which studied microneedling in 2013 found that microneedling is a safe and promising tool for stimulating hair growth and for treating hair loss [3].

F-HAIR MEN by Fusionmeso is a proprietary blend of peptides, growth factors, silicium, panthenol, and hyaluronic acid that has been engineered to preserve hair follicle stem cell activity, inhibit 5α-reductase activity, and stimulate the renewal of the extra-cellular matrix. These ingredients work synergistically to prevent hair cycle shortening and hair follicle miniaturization. Microneedling has been successfully paired with other hair growth-promoting therapies similar to F-HAIR MEN [4]. F-HAIR MEN contains evidence-based ingredients such as hyaluronic acid which has been shown to be able to restore hair [5], panthenol which can thicken hair [6] and silicium which effectively lowers the rate of hair loss [7]. In this regard, the pairing of F-HAIR MEN with the Dermapen for microneedling enables the therapeutic product to reach the deeper tissues in the proximity of the hair follicles and promote their bioavailability in the scalp vasculature. It is recommended, therefore that the advantages inherent in using F-HAIR MEN should be fully exploited by synergistically pairing the product with a tested microneedle like the Dermapen.
