CAS# 86438-79-1, 61789-40-0 , 61789-40-0
Description:
COCAMIDOPROPYL BETAINE: A derivative of cocamide and glycine betaine. Its made from coconut oil and comes in the form of a pale yellow liquid. Also known as cocamidopropyl betaine.
Cocamidopropyl betaine has been associated with irritation and allergic contact dermatitis, reactions that could be due to the manufacturing impurities amidoamine and dimethylaminopropylamine. However, studies have shown that coco-betaine’s potential for allergies and irritation can be avoided if the byproducts are tightly controlled.
